Every year we rely on a group of dedicated and energetic people who give their time to help us deliver the Festival. In return, our volunteers get an exciting (and fun!) behind-the-scenes experience of this major arts event, lanyard access, and help to make an important contribution to Auckland’s cultural life.
Our volunteers help us at the front-of-house, which could involve; manning an information desk, acting as an usher in one of our venues or keeping an eye on our Patrons’ Lounge. We also need lots of help backstage to support our production staff and make sure everything runs smoothly.
We have a briefing session for volunteers in advance of the Festival to run through the authors attending and the programme of events, introduce the Festival Team and give our volunteers all the information they’ll need about the venues and their roles.
We put out a call each February and invite anyone who is interested to apply with their details and availability. We do require our volunteers to commit to a minimum of three four-hour shifts so please bear this in mind when you apply. If you would like to pre-register your interest now, please email us at [email protected].
